Alonso can go to IndyCar after 2018

Following Fernando Alonso's 2018 season, there are rumors that he will race at IndyCar.

Fernando Alonso, who spent 17 seasons in Formula 1 this year, scored 32 points in the remaining six races and is taking the championship in seventh place. Alonso, on the other hand, failed to win in the last five seasons and took his last win with Ferrari in 2014.

Alonso, who has been 12 years since his last championship, says he wants to win the championship at every opportunity, but McLaren is not expected to offer that opportunity in the short run. On the other side, the big teams are not too happy to compete with Alonso.

Alonso, who is called Ferrari, seems to be very hard to come up with due to Sebastian Vettel, but in this case, McLaren seems to be the only option for Alonso to continue in F1.

While the name of the Spanish pilot has recently been quoted with the IndyCar series, this claim has gained momentum in recent weeks.

McLaren Racing's CEO, Zak Brown, said they could take part in IndyCar in 2019 or later, and voiced their concerns about what they could do with it.

According to recent reports, Zak Brown and Alonso's manager Luis Garcia Abad will go to the Detroit IndyCar race with the thought of forming a partnership with a team for Alonso next week.

It is expected that the teams will be passed through the theme and a possible partnership will be discussed.

In the past days, former Champ Car champion Gil de Ferran has been announced to be taking part in McLaren. Following this agreement, De Ferran is expected to contribute to the development of the IndyCar project along with the experience.
