Bob Fernley from Force India says that Sergio Perez is a very good pilot but he is not given enough value in the Formula 1 world.
Perez, who passed McLaren in 2013 following his strong performance in Sauber in 2012, failed to make the expected breakthrough and moved to Force India in 2014.
The Mexican driver was in the podium in his first year in Force India and in 2016 and 2017 he was able to finish the championship in seventh place after six drivers of the three major teams.
Apart from the year 2017, Perez, who left with a podium all the time with Force India, finally took advantage of all the opportunities he faced in Baku and took the opportunity for the third podium.
Fernley is surprised that the value of his Mexican driver is not recognized by the Formula 1 world.
"If I look at Formula 1, I think Sergio's value is not understood in many respects and he is not given enough value, perhaps the most despised pilot."
"As a race pilot, we do incredible things and we never want to lose him, but I think his performance is ignored."
While Perez's name has been associated with Ferrari in the past years, this year Kimi Raikkonen's contract is over and there is a possibility that Italian brawling will go on with a strong performance.
Fernley said, "I think all the pilots here want to go to Ferrari, whatever it is to wear red pants is a great privilege." said.
"I feel it is more than I can do, I try very hard, I do everything I can, I deserve to have a ride that I can show myself," Perez said in Baku, "you have to be in the most successful teams if you want to achieve something in Formula 1." he said.
