Former Sauber, Ferrari and Williams F1 Formula One pilot Felipe Massa will fight Venturi Formula E on their 2018/19 season.
After winning 11 races in his 16-year career in Formula 1, Massa had previously tested Formula One with Jaguar and had followed the recently built Roman ePrix.
The 37-year-old said he was looking forward to racing in Formula One for the past year and the announcement he made this year, and eventually, the official announcement came.
Massa, "I am delighted to join the Venturi Formula E team and the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, which has been a great struggle in such a short time."
"I especially like the format of the race, it's in the city center and you are in touch with the fans, and I can not wait to join the tests to be done by the end of this month."
"Venturi's manager Gildo is always one of the leading names when it comes to high-performance electric vehicles."
"I know that the team is in the phase of growth and development. I will work hard to contribute to the project, and I hope that I will be in the front row." said.
"It's a great honor for me to take Felipe to the Venturi family," said Gildo Pastor, Venturi's manager.
"I needed his experience, speed and clarity, driving and setting up in Formula E is an extremely complex task, and Felipe's 15-year experience in Formula 1 will definitely help us." said.
Venturi is now seventh in points with Maro Engel and Edoardo Mortara in the 2017/18 team championship
We were informed last week that the Monaco-based electric vehicle manufacturer will provide the HWA power unit to participate in the fifth season of the series.
Venturi, on the other hand, explained that the deal was three years old, but Massa's teammate was not announced.
