Ferrari will put a new engine on the car of Kimi Raikkonen, who is having problems in the second training session of the Spanish GP.
As Raikkonen's Ferrari arrived at the 10th turn, he started to smoke, and the team told the Fin pilot to turn the engine off and slowly turn the pit.
In a statement Friday night, Ferrari officially confirmed that Raikkonen would wear a new internal combustion engine, turbo, and MGU-H unit as a precautionary measure in the third session.
The Fin pilot will not receive any Grid penalties due to these three modifications to the car.
Parts to be removed from the car will be checked out at the plant in Maranello and put into Raikkonen's power unit pool to be used in the remaining races.
On the other hand, the FIA confirmed that the drivers who were out of the race in the Azerbaijani Grand Prix go to a new gearbox.
In addition to Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon will be a new gearbox.
