Mercedes pilot Lewis Hamilton has admitted that they are behind Ferrari and Red Bull after the Azerbaijani GP training tours.
Mercedes was first and fourth with Valtteri Botas and Lewis Hamilton at 1: 44.242 and 1: 45.200 in the first training session.
When the second session came, Mercedes pilots were behind and could be fifth with Hamilton 1: 43.603 while Bottas could be fourth with 1: 43.570. There were only 0.033 seconds between the two pilots.
Leader Daniel Ricciardo, who is 0.8 seconds behind, says Hamilton is lagging behind Red Bull and Ferrari.
The last champion said, "I can say it's a good day, we got everything we needed without making too many mistakes and we got a lot of good data for us."
"The day started on very hot conditions, but after lunch we were cool, which gave us the opportunity to try and understand the tires on both hot and cold conditions, making the situation more interesting."
"In general, we have not been fast enough today, now both Red Bull and Ferrari are looking ahead."
"It is clear that we have work to do, and today I will study the doors of our engineers and let them sleep! said.
His teammate Bottas was down 0.775 seconds, and both teams passed his teammate.
"The first training session was better than the second because we were a little lower than the Ferrari and Red Bull in the second session," Fin said.
"It was really hard to bring the tour together, and even the best tour I threw today was extremely messy, and it is not easy at the moment to drive, there is something we need to do about the balance."
"If we do everything right, our car looks very fast, there's a lot we need to do tonight so we can make the right changes for tomorrow and the market."
"The Baku race is being held earlier than in previous years and this certainly affects the tires, but for now the biggest worry seems to be the wind."
"Tomorrow and the market is expected to be very windy, which makes a lot of difference on the street tracks."
