Williams is preparing a major update package for the Spanish Grand Prix to solve problems in Spain tests and the Australian Grand Prix.
Paddy Lowe, who joined last year, analyzed what went wrong in the car during the season, and the team began designing a different vehicle for 2018.
The expectation of the new car was high because it was the first vehicle on which Lowe was working. However, with the Spanish tests, it turned out that there were many problems with the vehicle.
While the pilots are not satisfied with the vehicle's balance, the car is getting very hot especially in hot conditions. The team is working on a new update package to solve the problems.
Speaking on the subject, Claire Williams confirmed the update package.
"Our goal is always to struggle in the first three, but we are far away from it, but it is our choice to achieve it."
"We know areas where the vehicle we have is weak, and we believe we can solve them all quickly."
"We have a great update patch for Barcelona, we will see exactly where we will be, and we can wait and see where we want to be."
On the other hand, Paddy Lowe said it was too early to tell where they are yet.
"We'll see where we are after one or two races, so it's better to wait for it." "We do not have a bad car, we just have to solve the problems."
"It was sad for us that Sergey could not finish the race in Australia and it was not good for his career to make such a start."
