Mercedes pilot Valtteri Bottas says he has to win races to be able to stay in Mercedes, and he has to beat Lewis Hamilton for that.
Bottas began competing in Mercedes instead of Nico Rosberg, who retired after 2016 and remained below predictions despite winning three races in his first year.
Bottas, who finished third in the season, spent his second year with the German team this year and could finish his first race in eighth place.
At the end of the season, many pilots, especially Daniel Ricciardo, are named for the Fin pilot site where the contract will be made.
Fin ends, saying that the contract does not worry him, said he will concentrate only on winning the race.
"The best thing I can do is to win as many races as possible and that's exactly what I'm aiming for.
"Every weekend I try to do my best, I try to use everything I know, I want to perform well."
"At the same time I'm fighting with Lewis, trying to fight it, it's my job, it's all that simple, and I'm sure everything will be better when I do them."
"I am convinced that I will be able to achieve this through my experience last year, I am aware that many areas should not be developed, I will work on it, you should trust yourself and feel good in the car."
"You can do all of this just by focusing on yourself, so I'll focus on the piste and I will not think too much about other things."
