McLaren's race director, Eric Boullier, is confident that despite the challenges in the tests, the English team has a good car.
McLaren, who will use the Renault engine for the first time on this year, has had many problems in his first test of the partnership and has disappointed everybody.
The team is aiming to close the gap with the three teams in front of this year and to be on the podium and win struggle from time to time.
However, after these problems experienced, comments that the British team's goals were "a little high" started to be made.
Boullier says he is confident that the team has a good car, but he expects his partnership with Renault to give him the fruit over time.
"You never know what will happen, and if you do the best of your hand and see what happens, some may have behaved smarter than you, some may have been more courageous, I do not know."
"I think we have a good vehicle, we need to do what we have to do, but I think we have a good vehicle."
"I do not say we will be a world champion or we will achieve this kind of achievement, but we must be good enough to be a headache."
"We are now experiencing a distraction of attention because of motor problems, so we can focus our energy and attention on the details that will make us faster."
"The longer we work with Renault, the better it will be to advance our relationship."
"We know very well what we are doing with the development of the chassis, but on the motor side it will be good for both us and for us if we can improve our relationship."
