Force India is happy with the second test

Force India said they would be pleased with the second Formula 1 pre-season test because they successfully completed the program they prepared.
The first Barcelona test was not as expected due to bad weather and heavy snowfall and the teams could not drive enough. This was followed by the most victimized team, Force India, which ran the least number of rounds of all teams.

However, with the weather conditions improving in the second Barcelona test, Force India closed the gap and finished the pre-season test with a total of 711 rounds.

Tom McCullough, chief engineer of the team, who has been in trouble for the last four days, said that he has won the great endurance of VJM11 and that it is "a great achievement".

McCullough: "We are delighted with these two weeks, and despite the fact that we lost due to the bad weather we met last week, we completed our program and it was a good time to understand the VJM11."

"The greatness of our car was one of the most important points of the test, and driving without a problem with a new car was a great success.

In terms of lap times, Force India was the fastest 8th team with Esteban Ocon's 1: 18.967 time.

However, if we consider the rides of the teams in different engine modes and fuel quantities, the lap times in pre-season tests are not a big deal.

For example, Mercedes, which everyone saw as a reference, was just half a second faster than Force India with the same rubber dough.

While this indicated that Force India was cautious towards its goals, Sergio Perez said the team was no longer the fastest middle-ranked team.

Perez: "It's hard to tell where we are right now, but it looks like we're not the best of the middle, but as I always said, it does not matter where we started, it's important where we are in Abu Dhabi."

"We will use it in Melbourne to see where we are with the package, but we are very hopeful about it. It's too early to be disappointed or happy, so we should look ahead and continue to work."
